About Us
I’ve had a few people ask questions about the name of our pharmacy, so I wanted to take a minute to tell you a little about myself and why I chose the name. I grew up in a small town in south Louisiana called Church Point (around Lafayette). Cajun culture is thick here – it feels like it runs through our veins. My parents spoke Cajun French as their first language and always kept Cajun traditions and customs alive in our home, which I am now doing in my own home.
There are quite a few people who have inspired me and impacted my life and faith. My mom, dad, and Uncle Wilbur have inspired my career path and goal of owning a pharmacy. My mom is a lady who has more drive and tenacity than anyone I’ve ever known. She has overcome many obstacles by leaning heavily on her faith in God. My dad worked tirelessly to support our family of 7 with the help of my amazing mom. Honestly, though, what I remember most about him is his ability to make a friend out of anyone he met, and never thought twice about lending a helping hand to those who needed him.
Lastly, my Uncle Wilbur was a pharmacy technician at our local pharmacy. He loved what he did and it showed. Service was at the forefront of his craft and he knew everyone who entered the pharmacy by name, like a true friend.
Mon Ami means “my friend” in French. With this name, I pay homage to my heritage, family, and wonderful community that built me. I dream of rekindling that nostalgic memory of “small town” community and values and instilling those feelings in my three children. We can’t wait for you to see what we’re all about at Mon Ami Pharmacy!
Much love, ‘mon ami’.
